Hyundai Motor has opened an advanced service center capable of servicing a range of vehicles, from internal combustion engine (ICE) cars to future mobility such as software-defined vehicles (SDVs).
Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) held an opening ceremony for the “Suwon Hi-Tech Center” in Giheung-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, on Tuesday, and said official operations will begin on Wednesday. The center is an expansion and reorganization of a service center previously located in Suwon, now relocated to Yongin. The opening ceremony was attended by Hyundai Motor President Jose Munoz, Hyundai Glovis President Lee Kyu-bok, and Hyundai Mobis Vice President Son Chan-mo.
Hyundai Motor said the Suwon Hi-Tech Center is equipped with facilities capable of servicing a variety of vehicles, including future mobility. Specifically, it analyzes vehicle data in advance before the vehicle arrives through a remote diagnostic platform called “RDSP” and provides customized service. The center has also established a “Data & Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH)” analysis room that comprehensively diagnoses noise, video, and controller communications to analyze defects that are difficult to trace at ordinary repair shops. A joint quality analysis room has also been newly established, allowing vehicle analysis results to be shared with the R&D center in real time to investigate the causes of defects.
The Suwon Hi-Tech Center is the first Hyundai Motor service center to deploy smart mobility, including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). AMRs and autonomous case-handling robots transport various parts, while unmanned lifts move vehicles being serviced.
“The service site is an important space for building trust with customers,” a Hyundai Motor official said. “Hyundai Motor will continue to upgrade its nationwide service network to provide the highest service quality and a differentiated customer experience.”
