Hyundai Motor Group said Monday that its hydrogen logistics and robotics divisions supported the Genesis motorsport team “Genesis Magma Racing” as it completed the endurance race “Le Mans 24 Hours.”
During the event, maintenance crews wore “X-ble Shoulder,” an industrial wearable robot developed by Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) Group’s Robotics Lab, to ease their workload. The X-ble Shoulder reduced shoulder joint load by up to 60% and lowered anterior and lateral deltoid activation by 30%, assisting with the loading and unloading of tires and equipment. Hyundai Motor’s hydrogen electric truck “Xcient” was deployed to transport test equipment and parts.
“Hyundai Motor Group deployed a range of technologies at this Le Mans 24 Hours race to support Genesis Magma Racing’s motorsport operations,” said Luc Donckerwolke, Hyundai Motor Group Chief Design Officer (CDO). “The hydrogen-based logistics system and wearable robots improved operational efficiency at the Le Mans 24 Hours race site, and the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta concept presented a differentiated, customer-centered experience, proving our capabilities on the motorsport stage as well.”
