North Korea’s Rodong Sinmun, the ruling Workers’ Party organ, reported on the 13th that “a party and government delegation of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, led by comrade Pak Thae-song, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Vice President of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and Premier of the Cabinet, who had made an official visit to the People’s Republic of China and participated in events marking the 65th anniversary of the signing of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, returned home aboard a special plane on the 12th.” News1
Pak Thae-song, North Korea’s cabinet premier who made an official visit to China to mark the 65th anniversary of the North Korea-China friendship treaty, sent a thank-you message to Chinese Premier Li Qiang calling to “comprehensively expand and develop North Korea-China relations” as he returned home on the 12th.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported this on the 13th. “I am satisfied that this visit was carried out successfully,” Pak said. “Together with our Chinese comrades, we will make joint efforts to comprehensively expand and develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between North Korea and China in line with the demands of the new era.”
On the 12th, the final day of the visit, Pak and the North Korean delegation toured the Museum of the Communist Party of China, the rail transit command center (urban railway control center) in Beijing, and the green low-carbon circular economy demonstration base of China Resources Recycling Group in Tianjin. In the guestbook at the Museum of the Communist Party of China, he wrote, “I hope that the Chinese people will continuously achieve new accomplishments in building a modern socialist nation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.”
After completing the schedule, the delegation returned home aboard a chartered plane, seen off in Beijing by Wu Zhenglong, secretary-general of China’s State Council, Wang Yajun, China’s ambassador to North Korea, Hua Chunying, China’s vice foreign minister, and Ri Ryong-nam, North Korea’s ambassador to China.
