Hyundai, Kia Sweep Six Awards at 2026 Red Dot; ‘MobED’ Wins Best of Best

Hyundai Motor’s mobile robot platform “MobED” has won the Best of Best prize at a prestigious global design award.

Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) and Kia (000270.KS) said on the 14th that they won a total of six awards, including one Best of Best and five Winner prizes, at the “2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept.”

Organized by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, the Red Dot Award is one of the world’s top three design awards. Each year, it selects outstanding works in the categories of product design, brand and communication design, and design concept.

In this year’s design concept category, Hyundai Motor and Kia’s “MobED Urban Hopper & Golf” earned the Best of Best honor. The MobED Urban Hopper & Golf is a production-oriented concept mobility that combines top modules on the MobED platform according to usage purposes to provide convenience in everyday life.

The Urban Hopper was developed as a scooter model that supports convenient travel even in complex urban environments and narrow alleyways based on its maneuverability.

The Golf was designed to stably navigate the varied terrain of golf courses through autonomous driving and user-following functions, while also serving as a caddie during rounds.

Five works were selected as Winners: Hyundai Motor’s Concept Three and Crater, Genesis Magma GT and X Scorpio, and Kia’s Vision Meta Turismo.

Concept Three is a model that embodies Hyundai Motor’s vision to expand its Ioniq lineup to include compact EVs.

Crater is an off-road concept car that realizes the evolved design direction of the off-road-specialized trim “XRT.”

Magma GT, which embodies the Genesis brand’s high-performance vision, features a dynamic design that harmonizes a low-set front end, wide fenders, and a mid-ship engine proportion. X Scorpio, with a design inspired by the powerful posture of a scorpion, symbolically realizes off-road driving performance and practicality.

In addition, the Vision Meta Turismo concept is a concept car that embodies Kia’s future mobility direction with geometric forms and a refined silhouette.

“This achievement is the result of a convergence of the unique design philosophy and inspiration for the future held by each of the Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Genesis brands,” a Hyundai Motor and Kia official said. “We will continue to strive to provide new value and experiences to customers through differentiated design.”
