As artificial intelligence increasingly permeates real-world business operations, technology that connects fragmented data scattered across enterprises is drawing significant attention. Amid this trend, AI data infrastructure startup Algorix Corporation announced on the 14th that it has secured pre-seed investment from Kakao Ventures. The specific investment amount was not disclosed.
Algorix is developing a data engine that integrates and manages structured and unstructured multimodal data dispersed across multiple enterprise systems within a single logical layer. The core innovation lies in automating the process of manually organizing and connecting data in different formats — such as text, tables, images, and relational information. This transforms scattered data from being merely searchable objects into a data layer that AI can read, write, and compute within actual business workflows.
As competition among large language models (LLMs) shifts from performance benchmarks to practical enterprise applications, venture capital attention is also turning toward data infrastructure. With the dawn of the “agentic AI” era — where AI autonomously executes tasks — technology that unifies fragmented internal corporate data has emerged as a new investment frontier.
VC industry observers note that future AI competitiveness will depend less on the models themselves and more on how efficiently enterprise data can be connected and utilized. In practice, companies have long struggled with information siloed across ERP systems, groupware, document management systems, and databases, meaning that even after adopting AI, they must still manually link data across these platforms. Algorix addresses this challenge by providing technology that allows AI to query, analyze, and compute data in a consistent manner without needing to understand each system’s individual structure.
Industry assessments suggest that while large-scale investments have poured into document recognition and AI model development, the “middle layer” that connects the data AI actually uses has remained a relatively underserved space. Algorix aims to capture this market early.
With the new funding, Algorix plans to accelerate technology advancement and market entry. The company is currently conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with multiple enterprise clients and intends to support direct deployment within customers’ own cloud environments through a software partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Its strategy is to first target vertical markets with high data sensitivity, then expand into the Asia-Pacific and North American markets over the long term.
Algorix was founded by CEO Kwon Dong-han, who experienced data integration challenges firsthand while leading AI transformation projects at large corporations, and Chief Scientist Noh Su-ho, who brings R&D expertise in LLM agents, machine learning, and database systems.

“As AI transformation accelerates, every system running on top of it ultimately comes down to the question of which data layer it sits on,” said Algorix CEO Kwon Dong-han. “Algorix will not be confined to a specific product but will build the infrastructure layer that serves as the foundation for all workflows where AI handles data.”
A VC industry insider also commented, “AI model performance competition is increasingly converging toward a level playing field. Going forward, how well enterprise data is structured in an AI-friendly manner is highly likely to directly determine productivity.”
