Hanwha Asset Management said on the 21st that it has opened a Jeonju office in North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province. By establishing a base in Jeonju, home to the National Pension Service (NPS), the firm aims to strengthen cooperation with the NPS, the country’s largest institutional investor, and to help revitalize the regional financial ecosystem.

The opening ceremony held the previous day was attended by key executives and staff from both sides, including Hanwha Asset Management CEO Kim Jong-ho and NPS Chairman Kim Sung-joo.

The Jeonju office will serve as a strategic hub to strengthen communication with the NPS. Hanwha Asset Management plans to build a communication system capable of responding quickly to the changing investment environment and to expand long-term cooperation opportunities to reinforce a sustainable partnership.

The firm will also actively participate in the development of North Jeolla’s financial industry. It plans to expand exchanges with regional financial and related institutions and share investment-related information and market insights, contributing to establishing North Jeolla as a key hub for Korea’s financial industry.

“Jeonju has grown into a core hub for Korea’s pension fund finance, centered on the NPS,” Hanwha Asset Management CEO Kim Jong-ho said. “Using the opening of this Jeonju office as an opportunity, we will contribute to revitalizing North Jeolla’s financial industry and developing its financial ecosystem.”
