ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A South Korean company, Megazone Corporation, will be establishing its U.S. Headquarters in Perinton.
The company, which specializes in AI and cloud-based services (also known as MegazoneCloud), was founded in South Korea in 1988 and is currently a global leader in those fields. They are looking to grow their operations in New York and California.
Empire State Development (ESD) is aiding MegazoneCloud’s expansion by offering up to $1.22 million through the performance-based Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program. Additionally, Monroe County and Greater Rochester Enterprise are contributing to the project. The estimated cost for upgrading the Willowbrook Office Park location is $625,000.
The ESD and MegazoneCloud say they will create 122 jobs over five years in Monroe County, hoping to recruit local tech talent from schools such as RIT.
MegazoneCloud CEO Bob Moore said, “Establishing our U.S. headquarters in Monroe County is a pivotal milestone in MegazoneCloud’s global growth strategy. By deepening our investment in New York, we are perfectly positioned to help enterprises scale using next-generation AI and cloud-native solutions. As an RIT graduate, I know firsthand the world-class caliber of tech talent in the Greater Rochester area, and we look forward to tapping into that local brilliance to fuel our North American expansion.”
