Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun will join the global advisory committee of the global artificial intelligence (AI) forum “Silicon Valley and the World,” which will be held for the first time in Silicon Valley in November. Only two Korean businessmen are on the 40-member advisory panel. However, it is undecided whether the two presidents will attend the November event.
Semafo, a U.S. media startup, announced on the 22nd (local time) that it will expand its forum advisory committee from 11 to about 40. The advisory panel is co-chaired by five people, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, AMD CEO Lisa Su, Alphabet President Ruth Porat and Iconic Capital founder Dibesh Makan. The expanded list is a form of shifting the technology, capital, and policy axes that move the AI industry. On the tech front, Amazon CEO Andy Jash, Antropics CEO Daniela Amodei and OpenAI Chief Financial Officer Sarah Pryor will participate. On the policy front, former U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Lemondo stands out. Former Minister Lemondo is the one who designed the export control of semiconductors to China. Analysts say that it is an appointment that shows the purpose of the forum to connect AI companies and policymakers.
