The National Tax Service (NTS) is moving to develop artificial intelligence (AI) models for tax administration in cooperation with Seoul National University (SNU).
The NTS signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SNU’s AI Institute on the 29th for the use and advancement of AI.
The NTS is pushing personalized AI services for individuals, including assistance with preparing tax returns and consulting. The agency plans to receive advice from the SNU AI Institute on advanced AI technology that can effectively link, analyze, and guide tax information, as well as on establishing safety management systems such as information security and personal data protection.

SNU President Yoo Hong-lim responded, “We will actively support the National Tax Service with our university’s accumulated AI research capabilities and academic resources, so that the agency can dramatically enhance the convenience for all citizens through the use of AI technology.”
