Hanwha Asset Management<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">Hanwha Asset Management has named Lim Dong-jun, head of its strategic business unit and executive vice president, as its new chief executive officer. Lim has led the company&#8217;s artificial intelligence (AI), venture and alternative investment businesses in the United States.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">Hanwha Group said on the 30th that it had appointed Lim as CEO of Hanwha Asset Management in its regular executive reshuffle. Lim is set to be officially appointed following board and extraordinary shareholder meeting procedures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">Lim built his investment experience at Hanwha Life, where he handled securities, equity management and new business investments, before moving to head Hanwha Asset Management&#8217;s U.S. unit in 2022. He is credited with laying the groundwork for the company&#8217;s overseas business by building venture and alternative investment platforms and establishing related funds, centered on the United States. Earlier this year, he moved to head the strategic business unit, overseeing the alternative investment business.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">His strengths are seen particularly in expanding investments in AI and deep tech in the United States and building a global investment network. Through venture funds run by the U.S. unit, he invested in global AI companies including OpenAI and xAI, and made preemptive investments in advanced technology startups in defense, energy and robotics.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">He is regarded as having both investment experience and management capabilities.
