Ltd and TDK Corp. have formed a strategic partnership to develop sensing technologies for physical AI, combining their expertise in optical modules and sensor technologies to accelerate next-generation robotics applications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"310\" data-end=\"697\">The collaboration will focus on developing vision sensing and tactile sensing modules that improve robots\u2019 ability to perceive and interact with their surroundings. LG Innotek will contribute its optical, ultra-precision module design, and digital signal processing technologies, while TDK will provide its portfolio of inertial, position, temperature, pressure, and directional sensors.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"1266\">As part of the partnership, the companies are jointly developing a next-generation vision sensing module that integrates multiple sensors\u2014including inertial measurement units (IMUs), position sensors, and microphones\u2014with image sensors. The integrated approach is designed to enhance object recognition by combining visual, motion, position, and audio data while enabling features such as image stabilization, motion blur compensation, and dead reckoning. Designed to function as a robot\u2019s \u201cskin,\u201d the module will allow robotic hands, arms, and bodies to detect touch and pressure during object manipulation. LG Innotek will provide module design expertise, while TDK will contribute its precision sensing technologies developed across consumer and automotive applications.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"1826\">Beyond sensing modules, the partners plan to expand their collaboration into other physical AI technologies, including real-time processing and sensor data analysis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1828\" data-end=\"2098\">\u201cThe robotics industry is expected to rely increasingly on multi-sensing, where multiple sensors are integrated into a single system,\u201d said LG Innotek CEO Moon Hyuksoo. \u201cThrough our collaboration with TDK, we aim to help shape the ecosystem for core robotic components.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2100\" data-end=\"2398\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The partnership supports LG Innotek\u2019s broader strategy to expand its presence in the physical AI market through composite sensing modules that integrate camera, LiDAR, and radar technologies.
