The figure represents a 5.9% increase from the second quarter of last year. Operating profit for the second quarter came to 231.8 billion won, up 0.7% from a year earlier.

By business segment, the IT services division recorded revenue of 1.7625 trillion won, a 5% increase from a year earlier. The cloud business, which accounts for the largest share of the IT services segment, led the revenue growth. Cloud-related revenue in the second quarter reached 779.4 billion won, up 17% from the same period last year. During this period, external business revenue outside Samsung Group affiliates increased 75%. Revenue from the logistics division rose 6.6% year-on-year to 1.9553 trillion won, driven by growth in air transport (forwarding) and contract logistics centered on inland and warehouse operations.

Samsung SDS said it would expand investment in its artificial intelligence (AI) data business and robotics business. The company plans to expand its data center capacity from the current 110 megawatts (MW) to 230 MW by 2029. It has set a plan to expand its AI infrastructure business, including its data center design, build, and operate (DBO) business, to more than 800 MW by 2031.

In addition, in June, the company invested in U.S. robotics firm Walden Robotics through Samsung Venture Investment. Starting with Walden Robotics, Samsung SDS plans to expand partnerships with global robotics companies and pursue a “robot orchestration” business that integrates and controls various robots and links them to manufacturing execution systems.

Samsung SDS second-quarter 2026 earnings.
