{"id":104785,"date":"2026-07-31T00:39:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T00:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/104785\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T00:39:05","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T00:39:05","slug":"sk-hynix-samsung-stocks-ai-rally-roars-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/104785\/","title":{"rendered":"SK Hynix, Samsung stocks: AI rally roars back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Omar Marques | Lightrocket | Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s chip heavyweights <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/SKHY\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SK Hynix<\/a> and Samsung Electronics soared more than 20% in Seoul on Friday, tracking a sharp rally in U.S. technology stocks after blockbuster earnings from Amazon and Microsoft revived optimism around artificial intelligence spending.<\/p>\n<p>LG Innotek advanced 11.2% and Seoul Semiconductor rose 7.8%. <\/p>\n<p>Japanese chip stocks also rallied sharply. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/6857.T-JP\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Advantest<\/a>, climbed nearly 18%, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/8035.T-JP\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tokyo Electron<\/a> gained almost 9%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/6146.T-JP\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Disco<\/a> rose over 13%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/6920.T-JP\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lasertec<\/a> advanced more than 12% and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/6723.T-JP\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Renesas Electronics<\/a> added over 10%. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/9984.T-JP\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SoftBank Group<\/a>, a key artificial intelligence proxy as its owns <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/ARM\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arm<\/a>, also jumped more than 9%.<\/p>\n<p>The chip rally in Asia marks a sharp reversal from this week&#8217;s bruising sell-off, as semiconductor stocks were battered by concerns over lofty AI valuations and signs of intensifying competition from Chinese memory chipmakers.<\/p>\n<p>The iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) surged more than 8% overnight, as investors piled back into AI-linked chipmakers following stronger-than-expected cloud results from the two U.S. tech giants.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/AMZN\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amazon<\/a> jumped more than 9% in extended trading after reporting second-quarter revenue that beat analysts&#8217;
