{"id":106375,"date":"2026-08-01T16:54:22","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T16:54:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/106375\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T16:54:22","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T16:54:22","slug":"south-korean-company-posco-gains-access-to-rigi-to-produce-lithium-in-argentina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/106375\/","title":{"rendered":"South Korean company POSCO gains access to RIGI to produce lithium in Argentina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"gt-block\">This Friday, July 31, 2026, the Argentine Government approved the adherence to the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI) of the project \u201cGolden Salt II&#8221;, presented by the South Korean company POSCO Argentina SAU SDE, for the production of lithium carbonate in the Salar del Hombre Muerto, located between the provinces of Salta and Catamarca, in northwestern Argentina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gt-block\">Created to attract large investments throughand tax, customs and exchange benefits In strategic sectors, the RIGI approved the incorporation of such a project within the sector Mining, subsector Potassium and lithium, through Resolution 1157\/2026 of the Ministry of Economy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gt-block\">The initiative envisions the construction of a plant with the capacity to produce approximately 23.000 tons of lithium carbonate (Li\u2082CO\u2083) annually, whose Production will be entirely destined for export.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gt-block\">The project envisions a investment of USD 207,9 million and will allow the company to access the incentives established by the regime, including benefits linked to the import of goods necessary for its development.<\/p>\n<p>The approval of POSCO&#8217;s project under the RIGI program comes amid a strengthening of the economic agenda between Argentina and South Korea.
