The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) will provide a total of 300 billion won in guarantee support to suppliers of Hyundai Motor Group. The funding is based on 20 billion won contributed by Hyundai Motor Group and eight banks.<\/p>\n
KODIT said on the 5th that it had signed a “mutual-growth financial support agreement to develop next-generation mobility and boost entry into overseas markets” with Hyundai Motor, Kia and the eight banks. The agreement was arranged to support the strengthening of auto parts companies’ export capabilities.<\/p>\n
Under the joint agreement, Hyundai Motor Group and the banks will contribute a combined 20 billion won. Hyundai Motor Group will provide a total of 8 billion won. Kookmin, Nonghyup, Woori, Hana and the Industrial Bank of Korea will each contribute 2 billion won, Shinhan Bank 1 billion won, and iM Bank and Kyongnam Bank 600 million won and 400 million won, respectively.<\/p>\n
Based on the contributions, KODIT will provide 300 billion won in guarantees, applying an operating multiple of 15. The support targets second- and third-tier suppliers participating in Hyundai Motor Group’s export projects.<\/p>\n
Eligible companies will be offered preferential terms, including a 100% guarantee ratio and a fixed guarantee fee rate of 0.8%. In addition, through guarantee fee support from partner banks, KODIT plans to waive the entire guarantee fee in the first year and reduce it by 0.3 percentage point in the second and third years, easing suppliers’ financial burden.<\/p>\n
