In such a scenario, the use of nuclear weapons could be carried out immediately, without additional authorization procedures.<\/p>\n<p>The changes come amid rising global tensions, including developments in\u00a0the Middle East. Pyongyang believes the new measures will strengthen its deterrence, particularly against the United States, and help maintain the stability of\u00a0its leadership during potential crises.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0late March, North Korea conducted ground tests of\u00a0an\u00a0upgraded solid-fuel engine for intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of\u00a0reaching U.S. territory. Kim Jong Un\u00a0personally observed the tests and emphasized their importance for advancing the country\u2019s\u00a0strategic capabilities.
