I found that the Fold 8 was able to go from empty to around 70 per cent in 30 minutes, while a full charge took a little over an hour \u2013 though you\u2019ll need to provide your own charging plug, but it will work with any you currently own.<\/p>\n Shame about the price<\/p>\n Starting at \u00a31,699, like a lot of folding phones, this price sits well north of traditional flagship handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra<\/a> and the iPhone 17 Pro Max<\/a>.<\/p>\n Samsung has been somewhat unfortunate with the current tech component crisis, which has pushed up prices across the board. In another timeline, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 would have launched for \u00a31,500 or less, where it could have represented a true mainstream breakthrough for foldables.<\/p>\n As it stands, however, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will have to content itself with being the most interesting foldable on the market, at a price that\u2019s just \u00a3100 to \u00a3200 cheaper than many of its rivals.<\/p>\n Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8?<\/p>\n Samsung might have hit upon the ideal foldable shape with the Galaxy Z Fold 8. When closed, it\u2019s compact enough to carry around like a regular phone, but its new inside screen offers greater day-to-day utility.
