\nSeoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon attended a cabinet meeting presided over by President Lee Jae Myung on the 18th and expressed his opposition to building an apartment in Yongsan Park. He also requested a review of the government’s overall real estate policy stance, saying that the priority is to speed up housing supply by lifting regulations on redevelopment and reconstruction.<\/p>\n

Mayor Oh said on Facebook, “I attended the Cabinet meeting today and clearly told the President and the State Council members about Seoul’s position,” adding, “I asked for the lifting of restrictions that are blocked to speed up redevelopment and reconstruction.” Regarding the government’s August 13 measures, he said, “It is fortunate that some of the recommendations related to the maintenance project that the Seoul Metropolitan Government has demanded are reflected, but there is still a long way to go,” adding, “There are still regulations that must be lifted, such as restrictions on the transfer of union membership, floor area ratio, and rental housing ratio.”\n<\/p>\n

The development of Yongsan Park drew a line. Mayor Oh said, “I clearly expressed my opposition to the issue of building apartments in Yongsan Park today,” adding, “Yongsan Park is the last large-scale green space left in the middle of Seoul.” “It is ultimately at the expense of future generations’ lives to exhaust the share that future generations should enjoy just because they need additional housing supply right now,” he said. “There is also a principle in ‘shut up and supply’,” he stressed.\n<\/p>\n
