Kakao Games, which is in desperate need of improved performance, will release a new work titled “The World of the Guardian” with a motif of Korean folktales in October.<\/p>\n

Kakao Games held a media showcase at Korea House in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 20th and unveiled the main characteristics of the game along with the release schedule.<\/p>\n

“The World of the Goblin” is a game under development based on the web novel and webtoon IP (intellectual property rights) “Extinctive Water Challenge,” and has the theme of Korean folk tales such as “Goblin.”<\/p>\n

The “Guardian World,” a multi-access role-playing game (MMORPG), applied 2.D graphics that combine 2D dot characters and 3D backgrounds. It was developed by SuperCat, which produced “The Land of the Wind: Kites,” and Kakao Games was in charge of publishing. It supports both PC and mobile platform.<\/p>\n

The “Guardian World” is a structure in which users grow by freely combining 12 skill styles without skill restrictions depending on their job. In addition, user-to-user combat (PvP) reduces the burden on users by allowing users to choose whether or not to participate directly.<\/p>\n

What stands out is ‘Myoryong’, an artificial intelligence (AI) secretary who helps the growth of user characters. “Myoryong” analyzes the character’s in-game activity data and ranking information to inform users of daily play information or suggest growth directions.<\/p>\n

Kakao Games started pre-registration of the game with the showcase on this day. It also released the main commercial starring actor Park Ji-hoon, an advertising model for “The World of the Lonely and Great God.”<\/p>\n

As it has built a world view using Korean materials such as goblin and hanbok, Kakao Games is also expecting results not only in Korea but also in overseas markets through its new work.<\/p>\n

Lee Si-woo, co-chairman of Kakao Games, said at the showcase, “It is a work with Korean sentiment, original worldview, and MMORPG’s original fun, and it will be able to work well in the global market.”<\/p>\n

Kakao Games, which recorded an operating loss of 23 billion won in the second quarter, is focusing on improving its performance through new works.
