On the 20th, President Lee Jae Myung called on the public office to “turn a new leaf” in his second year in power, emphasizing the need to speed up the operation of state affairs.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the People’s Power held a second-year evaluation debate of the Lee Jae Myung government on the same day and launched a head-on offensive, strongly criticizing public welfare, economy, foreign and security policies.<\/p>\n

President Lee said at a meeting of senior aides at Cheong Wa Dae, “If there is a widespread perception that if you follow the rules, you will lose money, and if you break them, it will be difficult for any policy to work,” adding, “So there is a need for uninterrupted reform to correct fouls, unfairness, and abnormalities.”<\/p>\n

“If the solidarity and trust of the community are strengthened through this, the path to becoming an ‘irreplaceable Korea’ will be solidified,” he said.<\/p>\n

President Lee said, “It is more important to create changes that the people feel rather than huge slogans and goals. For example, voice phishing crimes have decreased significantly since the launch of the pan-governmental joint response team, and we need to consistently convince all areas of society of these achievements.”<\/p>\n

He emphasized, “Economic order disturbances such as store sales, collusion, stock price manipulation, and illegal supply and demand of state coffers, digital sex crimes, drugs, serious disasters, and public office corruption cause great damage to people’s lives, so we should respond intensively.”<\/p>\n

More than 440 days have passed since the inauguration of the government. It means that the term of office has passed a little more than 20 percent, but I think it passed very quickly,” he pointed out.<\/p>\n

“There were many difficulties both internally and externally at the beginning of his term, but there was also a great achievement in putting the state affairs on track and laying the groundwork for a national leap forward such as the three major mega projects,” he said. “Thanks to the public officials who have devoted themselves silently.”<\/p>\n

“Please make all-out efforts to speed up the state administration by tying your shoes with the mindset that you will start your term again before the start of the new year,” he said. “The Blue House should also have a special responsibility to communicate with ministries and support speedy state administration.”<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the People’s Power Policy Committee and the Yeouido Institute held a discussion on the second year of the Lee Jae Myung government’s economic, foreign and security policies at the National Assembly on the theme of “Cliff End Ordinary People, Middle-class People, and Shaking Korea.”<\/p>\n

At the meeting, CEO Jang Dong-hyuk said, “After a year of the Lee Jae Myung government, people’s livelihoods collapsed and the economy collapsed. Security is unstable and security is on the verge of collapse,” he said.<\/p>\n

Referring to the “poll flower” run by pro-female broadcaster Kim Eo-jun, he said, “President Lee’s approval rating also plunged to 40.9% in this survey,” and added, “The public is angry beyond worrying about whether we should leave it to him for another four years.”<\/p>\n

“The stock price soared until just before the local elections and plunged when the election ended, and it rose again when the Democratic Party of Korea’s primary began, and plunged like a ghost as soon as it ended,” he said. “The high prices, high exchange rates, and high interest rates have become the new normal, and small business owners and self-employed people are dying because of business.”<\/p>\n

He also said, “We only insist on anti-business and pro-union policies.” The Yellow Envelope Act has caused a job cliff, and the industrial site is a series of conflicts and confusion. “North Korea is upgrading its nuclear and missile capabilities and expanding its tactical roads to the military demarcation line, and we are disarming ourselves by pushing for the integration of military academies.”<\/p>\n

Floor leader Chung Je-sik also pointed out, “The people’s livelihoods and economic security that have been pushed to the edge of the cliff are all the results of the Lee Jae Myung government over the past two years,” adding, “With excessive regulations and hasty tax policies, the stock market has become a gambling place, not a healthy investment destination, and the youth employment rate has fallen to 44 percent.”<\/p>\n
