In particular, unlike domestic and foreign competitors that invest heavily in building large-scale infrastructure such as AI data centers, Kakao Talk, which has 50 million users, is focusing on life-friendly AI services that will work most efficiently on the stage.

According to Kakao on the 21st, as of the end of June, 13 million cumulative users (subscribers) of “Chat GPT for Kakao” reached. The service, which is equipped with ChatGPT on KakaoTalk, a “national messenger” in collaboration with OpenAI, gathered 2 million users in November last year, a month after its launch, and the cumulative number of subscribers surpassed 8 million in February and 11 million in May this year, and has now become an essential function used by all KakaoTalk users.

ChatGPT is not the only AI active in KakaoTalk. “Kana In Kakao Talk,” which was introduced as an on-device AI, understands the context of the user’s conversation and first proposes a place or product that suits it through the “Sun Talk” function. As a result, the user revisit rate of the service increased from 70% in March, the beginning of its launch, to 80% as of the end of June.

Recently, in line with the era of AI agents, Kakao declared a transition to an “intentional economy” in which AI performs actual actions and transactions as intended by users, and announced a partnership with Coupang Eats as a first step. Through the partnership, when a user shows an intention to order food in a Kakao Talk chat room, the on-device AI model captures it, recommends a menu that reflects the user’s preferences, and introduces a service that completes delivery orders to payments in the chat room. Starting with food delivery, the goal is to expand the scope of application to key areas necessary in everyday life, including commerce, reservation, travel, and payment in the future.

Meanwhile, Kakao’s stock price closed at 35,800 won on the same day, down 7.49% from the previous trading day. Analysts say that although the company avoided direct stake dilution due to the spin-off, it stimulated the trauma of investors left behind by a series of “split listings” in the past. Earlier, Kakao entered the stock market by dividing Kakao Bank and Kakao Pay in 2021, starting with Kakao Games in 2020. At that time, these split-listed subsidiaries were evaluated for their high valuation in anticipation of growth, but the stock price fell down repeatedly after the listing.

Lee Chang-young, a researcher at Yuanta Securities, said, “Kakao’s current stock price is not expensive, and the fall is a little excessive.”

[Reporter Kim Tae Sung / Reporter Moon Ga Young]

사진 확대 Through the restructuring of its governance structure, Kakao clarified that artificial intelligence (AI) is the key…

[622
49958,544,2588,2858,1702,827,831,65510,4694
post-127989","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-kakao","tag-agent","tag-ai-data-center","tag-artificial-intelligence","tag-data-center","tag-governance","tag-kakao","tag-kakaotalk","tag-life-oriented","tag-partnership
["GET
