{"id":13198,"date":"2026-05-12T01:31:01","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T01:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/13198\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T01:31:01","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T01:31:01","slug":"doosan-bobcat-scraps-merger-with-doosan-robotics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/13198\/","title":{"rendered":"Doosan Bobcat scraps merger with Doosan Robotics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Doosan Group on Thursday scrapped a merger between heavy machinery maker Doosan Bobcat Inc. and collaborative robot manufacturer Doosan Robotics Inc., their holding company said on Thursday, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kedglobal.com\/corporate-restructuring\/newsView\/ked202407210002\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">their 1:1 merger<\/a> proposal provoked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kedglobal.com\/corporate-restructuring\/newsView\/ked202407220016\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">severe criticism<\/a> from investors and the top financial regulator. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDespite our efforts to persuade shareholders and communicate with the market regarding the necessity and appropriateness of a stock exchange (between Bobcat and Robotics), we concluded that it will be difficult to complete the stock exchange amid strong negative opinions from shareholders and the market,\u201d Doosan Corp. said in a regulatory filing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe boards of directors of the two companies have decided to cancel their stock exchange agreement,\u201d the holding company added.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, they announced that Robotics would absorb Bobcat, the group\u2019s cash cow, by taking over a 46.0% stake from Doosan Enerbility Co., a small nuclear reactor manufacturer, and the remainder from the market.
