Breaking away from the conventional approach of listing product specifications, the South Korean tech giant has designed the space to let visitors directly experience its connected artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem through escape room games and content creation.

Samsung Electronics announced it will operate the “Samsung Creator Hub” at IFA 2026, running from September 4 to 8 in Berlin, Germany. The Creator Hub is located at “IFA Palais” within Messe Berlin, the main venue, and combines an experience zone, streaming studio, and private lounge under the theme of “A Home That Knows Me.”

The exhibition space itself features distinctive styling. Vibrant neon signs and the atmosphere of Korean street food stalls and snack shops (pojangmacha and bunsikjip) have been incorporated to create an environment where Gen Z and digital natives naturally linger and create content. Global creators can network in the lounge or shoot and edit content directly in the dedicated streaming studio. Rather than unilaterally explaining technology and products, Samsung plans to encourage creators to convey their experiences in their own way.

The core program is the “Samsung AI Escape Room,” which implements Samsung’s AI devices and SmartThings automation technology in game form. Participants receive guidance from Google Gemini on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which serves as a digital game master, as they complete a total of four missions.

The escape room space is equipped with the Bespoke AI Washer, Micro RGB TV, the lifestyle TV “The Frame Pro,” and smart monitors. Participants must solve given problems by utilizing the AI features applied to each product and the connectivity between devices. Outside the space, Samsung has installed OLED TVs featuring “Glare Free” technology that reduces light reflection, allowing spectators who are not directly participating in the escape room to watch the game unfold in real time on screen.

Guerrilla games are also part of the experience. “Beat the Bot” is a game where participants use the camera-based “AI Vision” technology of the Family Hub refrigerator to guess the quantity of ingredients stored inside. It is designed to let players experience how AI recognizes and manages food items through gameplay.

Standalone Exhibition at Humboldt Carré

Separate from the Creator Hub at Messe Berlin, Samsung Electronics is also operating a standalone exhibition hall from September 2 to 6 at “Humboldt Carré,” a convention center in downtown Berlin, under the theme of “Your AI Daily Companion.” The venue showcases the “AI Living” experience, connecting TVs, home appliances, and mobile devices to assist with leisure and household tasks throughout daily life, while also hosting B2B meetings with key business partners.

Design Direction: ‘Expressive Design’

Samsung Electronics’ AI strategy also shows a consistent direction in design. Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer (CDO) of Samsung Electronics’ DX Division, described the company’s design strategy as “Expressive Design” at a press conference held on September 3 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul during “Design Miami Seoul 2026.” The core concept is implementing different designs depending on product function and consumer taste.

He stated that the company is moving away from the minimalism that the design industry has long focused on, toward differentiation. The plan is to use design products that emphasize diversity and individuality—such as customer taste and lifestyle—as a starting point, and to diversify form, interface, color, and materials. “I want to give people choices rather than forcing needs upon them,” Porcini said. “We must first explore what matters to people, before technology.”

The 2026 premium OLED TV “SH95” exhibited at the event exemplifies this direction. It features a “Float Layer Design” where the screen appears to hover above a metal plate, and offers 14 different custom frames. While existing TVs focused on minimizing screen bezels, this approach expands the TV itself into a design element that shapes the surrounding space.

This approach also applies to AI products. Samsung Electronics aims to evolve its diverse range of devices—TVs, refrigerators, speakers, smartphones, and wearables—into “companions” that provide assistance tailored to the user’s context through AI. The company also emphasized an experience where AI operates naturally when needed rather than being prominently displayed. “Within a few years, TVs will transform from displays into AI devices that interact with customers,” Porcini predicted.

He also placed emphasis on “amplification” rather than “replacement” in the relationship between AI and humans. At the exhibition, 14 teams of Korean artists reinterpreted Samsung products from their own perspectives, with some incorporating AI into their creative processes. “There are concerns that if AI dominates everything, the results will all look the same, but human emotional intelligence and imagination are what matter,” Porcini said. “AI should play a role in amplifying human creativity.”

The Creator Hub at IFA and the design strategy announcement share the same underlying philosophy. Rather than unilaterally listing product performance, the approach is to let users experience and interpret products within their own context. The strategy of emphasizing AI’s role as an invisible “companion” that seamlessly integrates into daily life aligns with the IFA exhibition design, which encourages creators to experience products firsthand and translate those experiences into their own content.

Samsung Electronics (005930.KS) is unveiling an experiential space targeting global influencers and content creators at IFA 2026, Europe’s…

[17
45437,562,16332,31982,65442,56973,127,72631,72630,276,223,3875
post-142663","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-samsung","tag-bespoke-ai-washer","tag-galaxy-z-fold-8","tag-google-gemini","tag-ifa-2026","tag-mauro-porcini","tag-messe-berlin","tag-samsung","tag-samsung-ai-escape-room","tag-samsung-creator-hub","tag-samsung-electronics","tag-samsung-group","tag-smartthings
["GET
