A new report reveals that BOE<\/a> OLED supply share for iPhones<\/a> has reduced to 14% in the first quarter this year, and the decline appears as an opportunity for Samsung and LG. These shifts could further change the graph of OLED shipments in the market.<\/p>\n

Heo Mu-yeol, a principal analyst at Omdia Korea, revealed<\/a> insights on the smartphone OLED market, mentioning that China\u2019s BOE has reduced its supply for iPhones, which landed at a 14% share.<\/p>\n

The chief shed light on these insights during the 2026 Omdia Korea Display Conference. He revealed how BOE\u2019s loss can be a profit for Samsung<\/a> and LG.<\/p>\n

Since Apple is one of the important customers in the OLED field, it acquires OLED panels from three key producers: Samsung, LG Display, and BOE.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Samsung was the main supplier for Apple<\/a> iPhones. In 2021, though, the game changed as BOE entered the supply chain and witnessed a steady share increase.<\/p>\n

However, it seems things aren\u2019t working in BOE\u2019s favor anymore, as the firm reduced its OLED supply for iPhones and stood at 14% of the market share in the first quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, Samsung achieved a 59% share ad LG owned 27%.<\/p>\n

Heo mentioned:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe expected volumes to continuously expand as BOE entered Apple\u2019s supply chain, but in reality, BOE\u2019s supply volume is decreasing every year. It dropped from around 20% the year before last to about 15% last year, and stood at 14% in Q1 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s why: The report suggests that the reduction in supply is mainly due to quality issues. The constant defects in LTPO panels have affected BOE\u2019s OLED supply. On the other hand, Samsung and LG captured solid growth in this segment.<\/p>\n

Both Samsung and LG will continue to ship OLED panels for iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. Whether OLED will catch up or make the \u201c30 million unit shipment decrease\u201d prediction true is worth looking at.<\/p>\n
