\t\t\t On September 8, anonymous posts appeared on Blind, a community for office workers, claiming that some DS employees working at Samsung Electronics’ Pyeongtaek campus had meetings with their team leaders because they submitted rental contracts to the company that differed from their real lease conditions in order to receive housing assistance.<\/p>\n Since 2022, the DS division of Samsung Electronics has provided housing support to Pyeongtaek campus employees whose family homes are too far away for a daily commute or who need separate accommodations due to shift work. The policy supports up to 700,000 won monthly for employees living in officetels, studio apartments, or 1.5-room units smaller than 33\u33a1 (approximately 10 pyeong).<\/p>\n However, suspicions have been raised that some employees were actually living in houses larger than 33\u33a1 or in two-room apartments, and received support payments by recording a smaller area or misrepresenting the housing type on the lease contract submitted to the company. In response to these allegations, Samsung Electronics began verifying the facts.<\/p>\n There are also suspicions of so-called “double contracts,” in which some employees allegedly included fees not covered by the policy, such as part of the maintenance fees, as rent on their applications, or drew up a separate contract for submission to the company that differed from the actual lease conditions.<\/p>\n \t Anonymous Community for Office Workers, Blind.<\/p>\n
