The fictional K-pop<\/a> group that spent last summer fighting demons<\/a> on Netflix<\/a> is heading on a real-world arena tour.<\/p>\n

Netflix announced on Wednesday that KPop Demon Hunters<\/a>was soon becoming a global live concert experience in partnership with AEG Presents as the streamer moved to turn one of its biggest hits ever into a touring franchise.<\/p>\n

The announcement was made during Netflix\u2019s Upfronts presentation in New York, where the company said the tour would \u201cbring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular ways\u201d.<\/p>\n

A waitlist soon opened on kpopdemonhunterslive.com for tickets to tour dates later this year.<\/p>\n

The tour is expected to visit 150 cities in 2027, according to Entertainment Weekly, although Netflix is yet to publicly confirm this.<\/p>\n

The Independent has reached out to Netflix for comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, nothing has captured the world, the world\u2019s attention quite like KPop Demon Hunters,\u201d Netflix president of advertising sales Amy Reinhard said at the presentation, according to Variety. \u201cThere were sing-a-longs, Halloween costumes, shoutouts at the US Open and Buckingham Palace. There was even a 25 per cent spike in flights booked to Korea.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe live tour is going to bring fans even closer to the characters and the music that they love, and of course, we want you to be a part of that,\u201d she added. \u201cWe\u2019ll have more information to share about the cities later this year, so stay tuned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix says KPop Demon Hunters will become a global live concert experience (Netflix)<\/p>\n

KPop Demon Hunters, released in June 2025, is an action fantasy-musical that follows a K-pop girl group, Huntr\/x<\/a>, who lead a double life battling a rival band, the Saja Boys, who are actually demons.<\/p>\n

It holds the record for the most-streamed film in Netflix history<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The film, produced by Sony Animation and directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans<\/a>, features a voice cast led by Arden Cho of <\/a>Teen Wolf<\/a>and K-drama star Ahn Hyo Seop, along with May Hong and Yoo Ji Young. The supporting voice cast includes Kim Yun Jin, Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong, and Squid Game\u2019s Lee Byung Hun.<\/p>\n

Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami provide the singing voices for the Huntr\/x members. They spent much of the last year<\/a> performing the breakout track \u201cGolden\u201d<\/a> at live events, including a surprise appearance alongside Katseye during the group\u2019s Coachella set in April and a televised performance on <\/a>The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a> in October 2025.<\/p>\n

The chart-topping single <\/a>went on to win the Oscar, as well as prizes at the Golden Globe Awards and the Critics Choice Awards, for best original song, and became the first-ever K-pop song to win at the Grammys<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In March, Bloomberg reported that Netflix was thinking about staging concerts in arenas that could hold between 10,000 and 20,000 people across dozens of major cities. The streamer had at the time discussed bringing the three singers on tour, although they were also said to be considering virtual performers or hologram technology as part of the live production.<\/p>\n

The report, however, noted that it was unlikely the trio would appear at every stop.<\/p>\n

Netflix has already confirmed a sequel to the movie<\/a>, with Kang and Appelhans returning to write and direct. Talk of a sequel began shortly after the film\u2019s release as it topped Netflix\u2019s global charts for four consecutive days, beginning with 17 countries on the first day and climbing to 41 within just four days.<\/p>\n

Given the lengthy production time for animated features, though, the sequel is not expected to be on the streaming service until 2029<\/a>.<\/p>\n
