Cho-Kieop Union<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">Top executives at Samsung Electronics&#8217; (005930.KS) Device Solutions (DS) division visited the union office at the company&#8217;s Pyeongtaek campus to resume negotiations ahead of an 18-day general strike planned by the majority union starting on the 21st of this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">According to the Federation of Samsung Electronics Labor Unions on the 15th, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman and CEO Jun Young-hyun, DS Management Strategy Head Kim Yong-kwan, Foundry Business Head Han Jin-man, and System LSI Business Head Park Yong-in stopped by the union office at the Pyeongtaek campus and conveyed their intention to negotiate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">From the labor side, four representatives participated, including Choi Seung-ho, chairman of the Samsung Electronics chapter of the Federation of Samsung Electronics Labor Unions, and Vice Chairman Lee Song-i.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">&#8220;Samsung Electronics executives conveyed their wish to continue negotiations because they are concerned about the strike,&#8221; Chairman Choi said in the union&#8217;s communication channel that day. &#8220;The union responded that talks would be possible if there is an agenda addressing our key demands.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">&#8220;Employees have no trust in management whatsoever,&#8221; he stressed. &#8220;All three agenda items must be included: making performance bonuses transparent, abolishing the ceiling, and institutionalizing the system.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-[var(--color-text)] leading-relaxed\">Prime Minister Kim Min-seok and Labor Minister Kim Young-hoon are also reportedly scheduled to visit the union office at the Pyeongtaek campus that day.
