HD Hyundai Marine Solution (443060.KS), the comprehensive marine industry solutions arm of HD Hyundai (267250.KS), is making a full-scale entry into the North American data center power solutions market.<\/p>\n
HD Hyundai Marine Solution announced Tuesday that it recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with US energy infrastructure developer AEG for the maintenance and repair of engines used to power data centers.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to establish a cooperative framework for the long-term maintenance, repair and operation of 33 power engines installed at a data center AEG is currently building in Texas.<\/p>\n
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries previously signed a supply contract with AEG in April for 684 megawatts (MW) of data center power generation equipment based on its 20MW-class HiMSEN engines.<\/p>\n
Power consumption at data centers has surged amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, making the stability of emergency generation and commercial power supply systems a critical factor in determining data center operational efficiency.<\/p>\n
HD Hyundai Marine Solution plans to use the partnership as a stepping stone to promote the proven performance of HiMSEN engines and its own engine maintenance capabilities in the North American market, expanding its market share.<\/p>\n
In particular, since the cooperation extends beyond simple engine supply to encompass long-term service agreements (LTSA) and operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts covering the entire engine life cycle, the company aims to firmly establish a high-value-added service model that generates recurring revenue.<\/p>\n
