In the first quarter of this year, Hanwha Solutions received approximately 220 billion won in AMPC. Once “Solar Hub,” North America’s largest integrated solar production complex currently under construction, is completed within this year, AMPC will apply not only to existing modules but also to cells and wafers, enabling the company to receive more than 1 trillion won in AMPC annually, Hanwha Solutions expects.

AMPC is a program under the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that provides tax credit benefits for solar products manufactured in the United States. Hanwha Solutions manufactures solar modules at its Dalton and Cartersville plants in the U.S. and receives AMPC of 7 cents per watt (W). AMPC can be received as either a subsidy or a tax credit. In the case of credits, they can also be transferred to third parties. A monetization market has formed in the U.S. where rights to receive AMPC are bought and sold in advance, since it typically takes more than a year from the corporate tax filing date until actual receipt.

Hanwha Solutions plans to continue securing liquidity through early monetization of AMPC to rapidly improve its financial structure. “We plan to continue securing stable cash flow and improving our financial structure through AMPC monetization,” said Lee Jae-bin, head of Hanwha Solutions’ finance division. “We will focus on solidifying the foundation for mid- to long-term growth.”

A view of Hanwha Qcells’ Cartersville plant in Georgia, U.S. Photo courtesy of Hanwha Solutions Hanwha Solutions (009830.KS)…

[30
16682,10774,355,354,9127,3123,16684,16685,16686,16683
post-24670","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-hanwha","tag-advanced-manufacturing-production-credits","tag-ampc","tag-hanwha","tag-hanwha-group","tag-hanwha-solutions","tag-ira","tag-solar-hub","tag-solar-modules","tag-tax-credit-monetization","tag-u-s-inflation-reduction-act
["GET
