BTS<\/a> member SUGA<\/a> achieved an incredible feat ahead of his May 17 concert in Stanford<\/a>, California. The K-pop star discreetly completed a 12K marathon in San Francisco just hours before joining his bandmates Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook<\/a> on stage for their ARIRANG World Tour<\/a>. Clips of the artist have started to circulate online, showcasing the global icon mingling with fellow participants in the marathon. SUGA secured the 1,022nd position in the annual Bay to Breakers race out of 20,530 runners, which is quite remarkable!<\/p>\n

SUGA completes 12K marathon prior to ARIRANG concert <\/p>\n

As reported by SFGate, SUGA<\/a> took part in the Bay to Breakers race and woke up at 6 am to participate in the annual event. The 33-year-old ran under the name Min Yunki<\/a>. Official records indicate that SUGA finished the 7.45 mile-long course at an average pace of 8:41 minutes per mile, completing the marathon in 1:04:43.<\/p>\n

SUGA managed to return to the BTS ARIRANG tour stop in Stanford and arrived at the stadium on time. However, he performed the show with a slight limp, possibly due to some discomfort. BTS’ next destination is Las Vegas, Nevada for four performances, after which they will head to Europe and the UK. They are scheduled to return to the US and Canada in August for additional shows.<\/p>\n

Later, bandmate and BTS leader RM shared during a Weverse livestream that the singer is a passionate runner who typically completes 10k daily. V also mentioned that Yoongi-hyung aimed to lose weight and had been training hard. Jimin added that SUGA woke up early to enter the marathon, noting, “Before the encore stage, his calves were so swollen that he was limping. We were really concerned about him.”<\/p>\n

On social media, fans were astonished to learn that SUGA ran a marathon before the concert. One fan exclaimed, “BEING AN ARMY IS CRAZY BC WDYM YOU FOUND OUT YOONGI IS A RUNNER WHO DID A 12KM MARATHON IN STANFORD?!?!?!”<\/p>\n

Another fan expressed appreciation for the fact that the singer ran under his own name, noting that no one would have known if BTS hadn’t informed fans.
