A man in his 40s who was arrested for breaking into actress Kim Gyu-ri’s home and attempting to steal valuables has been placed under detention.<\/p>\n

Lee Jong-rok, chief judge for warrant review at the Seoul Central District Court, issued an arrest warrant on Wednesday afternoon for the suspect, surnamed Im, after conducting a pre-detention questioning on charges of robbery causing injury. The court cited “concerns of flight” as the reason for detention.<\/p>\n

Emerging from the warrant review hearing at around 5:03 p.m., Im responded “I admitted it” when reporters asked whether he had denied the charges. When asked whether the crime was premeditated and why he broke into the residence, Im only repeated, “I am sorry.”<\/p>\n

Im is accused of trespassing into Kim’s residence in Bukchon Hanok Village in Seoul’s Jongno district at around 9 p.m. on the 21st of this month and demanding valuables. The crime ended in attempted form when Kim and another woman escaped from the house after seizing a moment when Im’s watch had lapsed. The victims reportedly sustained fractures and bruises.<\/p>\n
