Joint Press Corps

SK Group (034730) Chairman Tae-won Chey met with Foxconn Chairman Young Liu to discuss cooperation aimed at gaining an early foothold in the next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure market. In Taiwan, Chey held talks with Foxconn, the world’s largest electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company and an AI server original equipment manufacturer (OEM), following meetings with Nvidia and TSMC. The move reflects his vision to complete an “AI infrastructure value chain” centered on memory.

According to SK Group on Tuesday, Chairman Chey, who is visiting Taiwan to attend Computex 2026, held closed-door talks with Foxconn Chairman Young Liu and other top executives in Taipei on the 3rd local time. On the same day, Chey also met with TSMC Chairman C.C. Wei, continuing his sweeping itinerary in Taiwan to personally oversee cooperation with the key Taiwanese companies that drive the global AI ecosystem behind the scenes.

Foxconn is a key player in the infrastructure market, supplying AI servers to global big tech companies. As demand for building AI data centers surges, Foxconn’s value, backed by its server manufacturing and computing system integration capabilities, is also soaring. Foxconn’s market capitalization stands at 4.1 trillion Taiwan dollars (about 199 trillion won), having jumped about 88% over the past year.

In the talks, the two leaders agreed to broaden the scope of their cooperation beyond AI chips and servers into future new business areas such as robotics, energy storage systems (ESS), and batteries.

The assessment is that combining SK Group’s energy technologies with Foxconn’s solid manufacturing infrastructure can generate powerful synergy.

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won listens to a briefing while visiting Foxconn’s booth at “Computex 2026,” held at…

[23
1366,24891,21122,24889,241,240,20166,3246,24890
post-41374","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-sk","tag-ai-infrastructure","tag-ai-servers","tag-computex-2026","tag-foxconn","tag-sk","tag-sk-group","tag-tae-won-chey","tag-tsmc","tag-young-liu
["GET
