Technologies Group to jointly pursue defense programs under the Hellenic Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>The deal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ekathimerini.com\/economy\/1298640\/onex-hanwa-ocean-strategic-agreement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">establishes<\/a> the two firms as prime partners for naval and coast guard initiatives being developed by Athens, including submarine programs, as Seoul-based Hanwha seeks to expand its footprint in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The consortium said the partnership will support shipbuilding as well as maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities, while enhancing the nation\u2019s maritime defense sector.<\/p>\n<p>It also includes plans to explore opportunities in additional markets across the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions over the mid to long term.<\/p>\n<p>ONEX, Greece\u2019s largest shipbuilding and defense firm, operates at its facilities in Syros Neorion and Elefsis.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Shared Future\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Hanwha Ocean Naval Ship Division President Sung-cheol Eo and ONEX\u2019s CEO and chairman Panagiotis Xenokostas signed the agreement in Seoul, with Greek Ambassador Loukas Tsokos and US Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires James Heller in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an honor to stand in Seoul, a hub of one of the world\u2019s leading maritime nations,\u201d The Elec <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thelec.net\/news\/articleView.html?idxno=5981\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">quoted<\/a> Xenokostas as saying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLet Korea, the United States and Greece sail together toward a shared future of security and prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eo added that the collaboration will secure a solid position in the Greek market while supporting the development of the country\u2019s broader industrial base.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this exclusive cooperation with a major local shipyard, we plan to stably enter the local market and actively participate in the upcoming projects for the Greek Coast Guard and Navy,\u201d Business Korea <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesskorea.co.kr\/news\/articleView.html?idxno=265632\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">quoted<\/a> Eo.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Hanwha Ocean has signed a strategic teaming agreement with Greek company ONEX Shipyards &amp;
