The collaboration will run through December 2027.

The project seeks to address two longstanding challenges in residential development: the speed and quality limitations of traditional construction and the difficulty of integrating smart technology into homes after they are built. By embedding connected systems into the design process, the companies aim to create homes that are more energy-efficient and ready for occupancy from day one.

“Filipino homeowners shouldn’t have to choose between a home that’s built well and a home that’s built smart. This collaboration lets us deliver both,” said John Avrett, co-founder and chief executive officer of Hive Modular.

Get the latest news

delivered to your inbox

Sign up for The Manila Times newsletters

By signing up with an email address, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Samsung Electronics Philippines President Roman Han said the partnership would showcase the capabilities of the company’s SmartThings platform, which allows users to connect, control and automate compatible devices through a single application.

Jose Torres, co-founder and chief operating officer of Hive Modular, said the collaboration demonstrates how technology can be integrated into housing at scale, making connected living more accessible.

The companies said modular construction can reduce build times, improve quality control and minimize on-site waste. Future applications may include staff housing, resort villas and residential communities. A pilot demonstration unit is expected to be announced as plans are finalized.

Hive Modular, one of the Philippines’ leading modular home manufacturers, has partnered with Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. to…

[18
14979,26636,26637,26638,127,276,494
post-44704","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-samsung-electronics","tag-build","tag-hive","tag-modular","tag-ph","tag-samsung","tag-samsung-electronics","tag-to
["GET
