The strategy includes investments in local manufacturing capabilities, localisation of key EV components, and the expansion of charging infrastructure over the next two to three years.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">As part of these efforts, the company plans to develop a network of high-capacity charging stations across major cities and key highway corridors. Hyundai believes wider charging access will help improve convenience for EV users and support affordable electric mobility adoption.<\/p>\n<p>Focus On Localisation Of EV Components<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The company highlighted its ongoing efforts to localise critical elements of the EV supply chain. HMIL has already established Tamil Nadu&#8217;s first battery sub-assembly facility for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saurenergy.com\/tags\/ev-powertrain-solutions\" rel=\"dofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">EV powertrains<\/a> and is working to increase local production of power electronics and other key components.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The localisation push is expected to reduce dependence on imports while strengthening India&#8217;s EV manufacturing ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Skill Development Partnership Announced<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alongside its EV expansion plans, Hyundai and the Tamil Nadu government jointly unveiled a skill development initiative aimed at improving the employability of young people in the state.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The programme is expected to become operational by December 2027 and will focus on developing talent aligned with emerging automotive and mobility technologies. Hyundai said workforce development remains a key part of its long-term strategy as the industry transitions towards electric and advanced mobility solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Tamil Nadu Remains Key Manufacturing Base<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">HMIL noted that Tamil Nadu continues to play a central role in its global manufacturing network.
