The National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) has once again recognized the prime contractor’s status as an employer of a subcontractor labor union at Chosun University Hospital, upholding its decision in a review.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the NLRC said it would maintain the initial favorable ruling in a case in which Chosun University (Chosun University Hospital) filed a request for a review of a correction concerning a public notice of a bargaining demand against the National Health and Medical Workers’ Union.<\/p>\n

Earlier, after the so-called Yellow Envelope Act took effect, the National Health and Medical Workers’ Union’s Saebom branch filed the case, demanding that Chosun University Hospital post a public notice of the bargaining demand. In response, the Jeonnam Regional Labor Relations Commission issued a favorable decision on April 20, recognizing Chosun University Hospital’s status as an employer. The hospital objected and filed for a review, but its request was not accepted.<\/p>\n

The NLRC held a hearing on the same day regarding Hanwha Ocean’s request for a review of an objection to the public notice confirming a bargaining union, which Hanwha Ocean filed against the Korean Metal Workers’ Union, but the decision was postponed.
