SK Hynix<\/a> plans to list its shares in the US as soon as August, said two sources familiar with the matter, as the South Korean memory chipmaker<\/a> seeks to capitalise on strong appetite for AI-linked stocks<\/a> and broaden its investor base.<\/p>\n

The US Securities and Exchange \u200cCommission is likely \u2060to \u2060approve SK Hynix’s American depositary receipt<\/a> listing application during the week of June 22, one of the sources said.<\/p>\n

Both sources declined to be identified as the information was \u200bnot public.<\/p>\n

“SK Hynix plans to issue ADRs within 2026, but the details, including the size and timing, have not yet been decided,” SK \u200bHynix said in a statement. The SEC was \u2060not immediately \u200cavailable for comment outside business hours.<\/p>\n

SK Hynix said \u200bin March it \u200bhad confidentially filed for a US listing. A \u2060source said at the time that the offering could \u200braise as much as $14 billion.<\/p>\n

The company, the world’s second-largest memory chipmaker and a key supplier to Nvidia<\/a>, has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom due to its dominant position in high-bandwidth memory chips<\/a> used in AI servers.<\/p>\n

Its share price has jumped 240% this year and its market value has since May \u200ctopped $1 trillion, making it only the third Asian company after Taiwan’s TSMC and Samsung Electronics to hit the milestone.<\/p>\n

Reuters \u200breported last \u200bweek that SK Hynix \u2060had received “tremendously positive” feedback on the plan, citing strong AI demand and its competitive position in the memory-chip market.<\/p>\n
