North Korea has recalled its ambassador to Britain only a month after his appointment, reportedly downgrading diplomatic ties in response to British sanctions on a children\u2019s camp, according to NK News. <\/p>\n
Pyongyang’s embassy in London said in a statement to NK News it \u200bhad withdrawn Ambassador Mun Myong Sin and reduced ties \u200bto the level of charge d\u2019affaires until Britain \u2060lifts sanctions on the Songdowon International Children\u2019s Camp, News.Az<\/a> reports, citing Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n In May, \u200bLondon designated, the camp as a part of Kremlin-run youth programmes \u200band entities involved in the deportation and indoctrination of Ukrainian children.<\/p>\n The embassy called the move by Britain<\/a> a “heinous, unethical, politically-motivated provocation” and said \u200bLondon was seeking to tarnish North Korea\u2019s image and \u200bundermine its ties with Russia, according to NK News. Pyongyang’s foreign ministry said in a statement carried by state media in May that the sanctions on the Songdowon camp \u200bwere a malicious \u200bact that \u2060London would pay a price for.<\/p>\n
North Korea’s embassy \u200cin \u2060Britain did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.<\/p>\n
