This transaction represents the first deal executed under a partnership between Chrysalis, which is an arm of global infrastructure manager Morrison, and Hanwha Renewables, a subsidiary of the Korean conglomerate Hanwha Group. Under this partnership, Chrysalis acquires projects from Hanwha that align with its investment criteria, while leveraging Hanwha’s expertise in development, engineering, procurement and construction, module supply, asset management, and operations and maintenance.

The Atlas V and Atlas VI projects are the first to be delivered through this model. They have a combined capacity of 357 megawatts direct current and are currently in the final stages of commissioning. The projects are situated within the multi-phase Atlas Energy Park in La Paz, Arizona. They are expected to support domestic manufacturing, strengthen supply chains, and improve grid reliability while reducing exposure to trade and tariffs.

Both projects are contracted under 15-year direct wire power purchase agreements with Southern California Edison for delivery into California’s CAISO market. Commercial operations are anticipated to begin in the coming months. Qcells, another subsidiary of Hanwha Group, supplied the domestically manufactured modules from its facility in Georgia and is serving as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor.

Morrison partner Gordon Hay commented that the acquisition marks an important milestone for Chrysalis, increasing its generation capacity to approximately 700 megawatts and significantly expanding its regional footprint. He also noted that the transaction advances Chrysalis’ portfolio diversification strategy by adding a generation profile that complements its existing assets.

The partnership between Chrysalis and Hanwha was announced in February 2026 and aims to accelerate the deployment of construction-ready and operational renewable energy assets. The initial focus is on more than 3.5 gigawatts of solar and battery energy storage system capacity in North America. The partners also plan to expand the portfolio into additional markets, including Japan, Australia, and Italy.

In April 2026, Hanwha sold the 1.5-gigawatt Atlas North solar-plus-storage portfolio to Lydian Energy. That portfolio comprised four late-stage projects in the CAISO market, including more than 1 gigawatt of solar photovoltaic capacity and 450 megawatts or 1,800 megawatt-hours of battery energy storage system capacity.

 1.
