This critical step secures consistent, long-term power delivery for the plant and advances the project toward operational status.<\/p>\n<p>The facility represents Hyundai Motor Group&#8217;s first steel mill in North America, designed to create a fully integrated, U.S.-based supply chain supporting its automotive production nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>The low-carbon automotive steel mill will occupy roughly 1,800 acres in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, serving as the cornerstone of the RiverPlex MegaPark on the Mississippi River&#8217;s Westbank in Ascension Parish. Spanning about 17,000 acres, RiverPlex stands as the largest undeveloped parcel along the deep-water Mississippi River.<\/p>\n<p>The steel mill is projected to generate over 1,300 direct new jobs.
