Yonhap News

LG Group is moving forward with follow-up discussions for strategic cooperation in the next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) industry, building on the meeting between Chairman Kwang-mo Koo and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

According to industry sources Monday, executives from LG Group’s major affiliates plan to visit Nvidia’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California, on Tuesday. The meeting was arranged to discuss practical business cooperation in physical AI and robotics.

The meeting will be attended by a large working group of about 30 people, including major executives such as Hyun Shin-kyun, president of LG CNS; Jung Soo-heon, head of LG Sciencepark; Kim Byoung-hoon, chief technology officer (CTO) of LG Electronics; Lee Hyun-wook, head of LG Electronics’ HS Research Center; and Min Jon, CTO of LG Innotek, along with working-level staff from LG Electronics, LG Innotek, LG CNS and the LG AI Research Institute.

The working-level staff plan to explore commercialization possibilities through technical sessions and discussions on individual cooperation tasks with Nvidia, and to hold talks aimed at identifying priority projects. Executives are expected to discuss cooperation measures based on “One LG,” which brings together the group’s core capabilities.

The visit by major executives to Nvidia comes two weeks after the meeting between the two companies’ top management. As practical discussions are set to take center stage, observers inside and outside the industry assess that the cooperation roadmap between LG Group and Nvidia is taking shape faster than initially expected.

Earlier, on the 8th of this month, Koo and Huang met at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, where they agreed to strengthen their partnership across the AI ecosystem—including physical AI, infrastructure and future mobility—and to bolster mid- to long-term cooperation, with plans that include jointly developing reference robots.

LG Group aims to build a next-generation AI ecosystem and accelerate AI innovation by combining Nvidia’s “full-stack, end-to-end AI platform” with its own capabilities in home appliances, robotics, mobility components, smart spaces and AI infrastructure.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang (right) poses for the press after meeting LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo at the…

[621
2406,15558,11825,5644,315,357,314,2295,1223,1130
post-59789","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-lg-electronics","tag-ai-ecosystem","tag-future-mobility","tag-jensen-huang","tag-kwang-mo-koo","tag-lg","tag-lg-electronics","tag-lg-group","tag-nvidia","tag-physical-ai","tag-robotics
["GET
