With her passport in hand and her camera rolling, travel is a way of life for content creator Leah Shannon. Known for documenting her globe-trotting adventures in pursuit of her favourite K-pop groups, Shannon has transformed fan culture into a passport to the world\u2014a fun-filled journey that has led her from concert barricades to exclusive in-person interviews and once-in-a-lifetime encounters with the stars themselves, including TWICE fanmeets, interviewing K-pop soloist Dayoung and even making a cameo in BTS Jin\u2019s \u201cDon\u2019t Say You Love Me ” music video.<\/p>\n

Beyond the fandom, it\u2019s her knack for storytelling that keeps audiences on their toes. Whether she\u2019s navigating a new city, chasing the next viral cultural moment, or sharing the realities of life as a girl who\u2019s constantly in transit, she never fails to capture the thrill of the moment.<\/p>\n

Get To Know Leah ShannonWhat is your favourite museum in Singapore to visit?<\/p>\n

I love visiting the National Gallery Singapore because, first of all, it reminds me of the moment I was a tiny feature in Jin\u2019s music video that was shot in Singapore. I also always enjoy their feature exhibits and how interactive they can be, especially during events like Light to Night, and the design of the museum is my favourite.<\/p>\n

Do you collect anything in particular? If so, what is it?\"leah<\/p>\n

TWICE merch, POPMART<\/a> plushies<\/a>, Acne Studios jeans I wear on rotation, and Gentle Monster<\/a> sunglasses. Do we need more?<\/p>\n

What is one object you would never part with?<\/p>\n

Is saying my phone too cliche? But it\u2019s technically my job. If not, then a t-shirt that Changkyun from Monsta X touched because he \u2018caught\u2019 me after I almost fell at the airport in Korea.<\/p>\n

What is an underrated holiday destination you would recommend?\"leah<\/p>\n

I like Izu because it is a coastal town. It was my first time ever doing in a road trip in Japan, and driving along with the ocean view during the trip was unreal.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d recommend the little bed and breakfast type hotel I stayed at called Episode Izu, it was so lovely. I also went to a cafe called Music in Largo, but it’s technically just an old Japanese man who loves jazz music. He opens his house for people to come by, listen to music, and drink coffee. It was truly a core memory for me.<\/p>\n

I also drove up to this place called Lover\u2019s Cape to see the view of the cliffs and do a little nature walk. Plus, at the end, if you go with your partner, you can get a \u2018certificate\u2019 of your relationship, and they stamp it for you as a souvenir. Super cute. I also made friends with a lovely family running a coffee stand by the road on the drive.<\/p>\n

What is your favourite film?<\/p>\n

Basic, but the Harry Potter movies\u2014specifically Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005).<\/p>\n

What is your favourite music genre?<\/p>\n

K-pop, of course, but I also love R&B and EDM because I go to raves quite often! I\u2019ve been to EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival), Songkran and Ultra over the years. A DJ I also really love is Knock2.<\/p>\n

What is your favourite spot in Singapore?\"leah<\/p>\n

So hard to pick one\u2026currently it\u2019s a bakery called Wheathead.<\/p>\n

What is one musical or play you can always rewatch?\"leah<\/p>\n

Les Mis\u00e9rables. During its recent run in Singapore, I went in not knowing the storyline (or barely knowing it), and even though the stage didn\u2019t change up much, the music conveyed the storyline so well and was full of emotion, I\u2019d happily watch it again.<\/p>\n

What is the best concert you\u2019ve ever been to?\"leah<\/p>\n

I just came back from it, actually. TWICE\u2019s recent encore in Japan with 80,000 people in the stadium, I was super lucky to have been a part of it.<\/p>\n

As an avid concert-goer, do you have any tips for fellow K-pop fans?<\/p>\n

I think I\u2019ve overshared a lot of my tips on the internet, but one thing I\u2019d always recommend is that if you can, go experience an overseas concert. The joy of travelling for what you love is always so fun. Don\u2019t be afraid to do it alone, because I go alone a lot of the time, and I end up making friends there because everyone there has the same interests as you, so just say hi. I\u2019ve ended up making so many lovely connections with TWICE fans around the world; it\u2019s one of the best things about the community, in my opinion.<\/p>\n

When do you feel most inspired?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not worried about what other people are doing, but just focused on what I love. I have many niche interests and being able to find joy in them constantly and how they influence what I post always inspires me.<\/p>\n

For example, I love snowboarding! My goal is to one day get an instructor\u2019s license. I also love reading Korean webtoons. There\u2019s a whole community in that. I have very specific anime interests too, like Blue Lock. I enjoy watching professional e-sports like Dota and Valorant, and also gaming in general on my PC or Nintendo Switch. I\u2019m pretty competitive.<\/p>\n

What is the best advice you\u2019ve ever received?<\/p>\n

My friend who is 10 years older than me told me once that if something doesn\u2019t feel right, then why tie yourself down to it when you have so many more years left to live.<\/p>\n

What is one artistic hobby you\u2019d like to explore?<\/p>\n

Making music. I\u2019ve always wanted to learn how to DJ, because music has been such a huge part of my life.<\/p>\n

What has been the most memorable moment from your career so far?\"leah<\/p>\n

Being able to interview K-pop idols for work is still truly a dream come true for me.
