The stage sets, which recreated an actual music show pre-recording site, were decorated with different concepts for each round. Centered around the performance of the title track ‘Open The Door,’ the stage on the 19th was divided into two rounds, showing different outfits, while the final round on the 20th was held as a fancam day. The videos uploaded right after the pre-recording included various camera movements and even the members’ ending fairy moments, delivering a vivid sense of the scene even to fans who could not be there.

Behind the creation of this stage was the context of the group’s first comeback after transferring to a new agency. ONF’s side explained that the event was planned “to create a place to meet FUSE, the fandom name, who had waited for the comeback.” Even for groups that are not rookies, opportunities to appear on music shows are limited. Especially during periods like now, when many artists’ comebacks and promotions are concentrated, the number of times they can stand on broadcast stages decreases accordingly. In a situation where music show slots are shrinking, ONF chose to recreate and present the format itself instead of waiting for broadcasters to provide a stage.

The response was enthusiastic. The released videos received praise such as, “I thought they were just good at singing, but their sincerity is amazing,” and “It feels like a move that opens a new door, just like the title of the title track.” Many also evaluated the stages as having a level of completion comparable to actual music shows, rather than simply being fan service videos. This was because they carried the distinctive style of music shows, including lyric subtitles displayed at the bottom left and dynamic camera movements. ONF shared its thoughts, saying, “It was a stage prepared while looking only at our fans,” adding, “We will continue working hard to become ONF, who performs with even more sincerity.”

A single music show appearance can present various types of content, including the stage, fancams, and interviews, but it is not a place that is always open. ONF created that stage themselves and repeated it three times. It is a case that shows that as the range of opportunities given by broadcasters narrows, the places artists must fill on their own also increase.

This promotion was not simply a comeback for ONF. ‘ONF:MY SELF’ is the group’s first album released after transferring to a new agency, but it is also a work that continues the narrative of Part.1 of its 2nd full-length album, ‘ONF:MY IDENTITY,’ released last year. It was not a completely new start, but rather a place to conclude a story they had been continuing from a new side. The members’ participation was also deep. SEUNGJUN was in charge of the overall planning of the album, WYATT and MINKYUN participated in writing lyrics and composing, and U took part in performance directing. Just as they met fans through a stage they created themselves, the album itself also carried the members’ touch throughout. The result came back in numbers. ‘ONF:MY SELF’ recorded initial chodong sales of 113,916 copies based on Hanteo Chart, setting a new personal best. Combined with ranking No. 1 on Japan’s Tower Records K-POP Daily Chart and entering the iTunes Worldwide Albums Chart at No. 52, the first step of their new beginning led directly to a career high.

grace@hanteo.com

Photo = KI ENTERTAINMENT [Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] ONF created its own music show stage.…

[2
11094,17937,11095,195,31909,31908
post-63249","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-korea","tag-artist","tag-focus","tag-hanteo-news","tag-k-pop","tag-onf","tag-31908
["GET
