President Lee Jae-myung emphasized Saturday that “we will complete a Korean-style artificial intelligence (AI) industrial revolution led by regions and reaching out to the world.”<\/p>\n
Writing on Facebook, Lee said, “The government will spare no innovation or support so that the ‘three mega projects’ we promised to the public today can become a springboard for a great leap that will secure the Republic of Korea’s future.” Of the “Republic of Korea Great Leap Three Mega Projects National Report” held the same day, Lee said, “My heart was full at the thought that, far in the future, today might be remembered as the day a new history of the Republic of Korea began.” He added, “It was a time when I felt the possibility and potential of the Republic of Korea as an industrial power with a super gap, and at the same time was overwhelmed by the earnest desire that we must succeed.”<\/p>\n
He continued, “Fierce debate and various concerns came together, but one thing was clear,” saying, “that in an all-out competition with the nation’s fate at stake, only a speed battle is the way to survive.”<\/p>\n
Lee stressed that “the government and the private sector must consolidate their capabilities to build a Korean-style artificial intelligence ecosystem with a sense of speed, binding together the three axes of semiconductors, physical AI, and AI data centers.” He added, “Our companies have chosen the regions as Korea’s growth hubs in the AI era,” and said, “I believe this is the result of quickly reading the changes and opportunities of the times, including power, water, and abundant land.”<\/p>\n
Lee said, “I will concentrate the government’s capabilities so that companies’ bold investments can bear fruit in even greater growth,” adding, “Once again, on behalf of the people, I extend my deep gratitude to Chairman Jay Y. Lee and Chairman Tae-won Choi for making this historic decision.”<\/p>\n
Earlier, the president, the government, Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y.
