{"id":85830,"date":"2026-07-14T13:10:13","date_gmt":"2026-07-14T13:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/85830\/"},"modified":"2026-07-14T13:10:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-14T13:10:13","slug":"south-korean-bill-would-require-pre-screening-of-music-releases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/korea\/85830\/","title":{"rendered":"South Korean bill would require \u2018pre-screening\u2019 of music releases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are arguments afoot in South Korea this week due to a proposed amendment to the country\u2019s Music Industry Promotion Act by the ruling party.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe bill would require music distributors to pre-screen all tracks to determine whether they contain content harmful to minors before release,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.koreatimes.co.kr\/entertainment\/k-pop\/20260713\/bill-to-pre-screen-music-harmful-to-minors-sparks-censorship-fears\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">reported the Korea Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf any song is judged harmful and its creator is under 19, the distributor must block the track from release altogether.
