The KOSPI overcame a sharp intraday decline to close just below the 7,500 mark, marking a fourth consecutive session of gains and setting another record closing high.<\/p>\n

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) closed at 7,498.00 on Wednesday, up 7.95 points, or 0.11%, from the previous session, according to the Korea Exchange (KRX). The benchmark surpassed the previous day’s record closing high of 7,490.05 in just one trading session.<\/p>\n

The index opened weak at 7,353.94, down 136.11 points, or 1.82%, from the previous close. Losses deepened in early trading, pushing the index as low as 7,318.96.<\/p>\n

Bargain hunting subsequently flowed into the market, quickly narrowing the losses, and the index turned higher in the later part of the session. It briefly climbed as high as 7,511.01 during the day, reclaiming the 7,500 level.<\/p>\n

The KOSPI has been on a steep rally in recent sessions. On November 6, it surged more than 6% to break above the 7,000 level for the first time, and the previous day it crossed the 7,500 mark intraday for the first time in its history. Wednesday’s close extended the streak of record highs.<\/p>\n

The KOSDAQ also rebounded.
