At the K-Display 2026 exhibition, which opened on July 22 at COEX in Seoul, the company set up a premium office experience zone, prominently featuring its professional-grade 27-inch 5K OLED panel.

The new product boasts 220PPI (pixels per inch) high resolution and an RGB stripe structure, delivering sharper rendering of complex CAD modeling work and fine text. At the exhibition, 3D design data displayed on the OLED screen showed component cross-sections and subtle shadows with natural precision, while OLED’s characteristic high contrast ratio and fast response time enhanced immersion in design tasks.

Alongside this, the company introduced a 51.5-inch large-format LCD monitor. Targeted at traders who typically use multiple connected monitors, the product has already launched in the market at a price point in the low 4 million won range (approximately $2,717). An LG Display representative noted, “Due to the self-emissive nature of OLED displays, extended viewing causes less eye strain. The 51.5-inch large LCD monitor has also received industry-leading low blue light certification.”

At the exhibition, the 27-inch 5K OLED panel received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in recognition of its technological prowess. LG Display said the award validates its premium monitor technology suited for AI-driven high-performance content implementation.

Office OLED Monitor Market Poised for Explosive Growth

LG Display expects the growth trajectory seen in gaming OLED monitors to be replicated in the office OLED monitor market. According to global market research firm Omdia, gaming OLED monitor shipments, which reached 3.42 million units last year, are projected to grow to 4.87 million units this year. However, after the initial explosive growth phase, a more moderate compound annual growth rate of around 2% is expected through 2033.

In contrast, the potential of the non-gaming OLED monitor market, including office use, appears explosive. Shipments, currently at around 200,000 units this year, are forecast to surge to 650,000 units next year, 1.34 million units by 2028, and 5.06 million units by 2033. This represents a steep annual growth rate of approximately 50%. This signals more than just volume growth — it indicates OLED’s position within the monitor market is expanding beyond a gaming-centric niche into a premium market centered on productivity and professional workflows.

Indeed, during its second-quarter earnings conference call, LG Display stated, “The OLED monitor shipment share is expected to rise from the low 10% range last year to approximately 20% this year, with meaningful growth continuing into next year.” The company plans to optimize its TV and monitor production mix based on market conditions and profitability while pursuing expansion of its OLED monitor business.

From Humanoids to Future Vehicles — Expanding OLED Territory

At the exhibition, LG Display presented a blueprint extending OLED applications beyond office monitors into humanoid robots and next-generation vehicles. The P-OLED (Plastic Organic Light-Emitting Diode) display for humanoids, unveiled for the first time in South Korea, is thin and lightweight while operating stably in temperatures ranging from -30°C to 85°C. The concept leverages durability and image quality technologies accumulated from automotive applications and extends them to humanoids deployed across various industrial environments.

In the mobility zone, the company showcased a digital cockpit featuring a 48-inch P2P (Pillar to Pillar) display spanning the entire dashboard and an 18-inch slidable OLED that descends from the rear-seat ceiling. The concept transforms vehicles into living spaces by enabling video conferencing and entertainment functions within the confined interior.

In the gaming section, ultra-high refresh rate products including a 24.5-inch 540Hz OLED, 27-inch DFR 720Hz OLED, and 39-inch 5K2K OLED drew crowds of visitors waiting to experience them. In the home zone, an 83-inch OLED TV panel employing tandem WOLED technology delivered up to 4,500 nits of brightness and sub-0.3% reflectivity, providing clear picture quality even in bright environments.

An industry insider commented, “In the AI era, the importance of displays — which we face all day — will inevitably grow alongside semiconductors. Going forward, competition in the premium monitor market will shift from how sharp a screen can be to how long it can provide a comfortable working environment.”

Meanwhile, LG Display reported second-quarter revenue of 5.61 trillion won (approximately $3.8 billion), but recorded an operating loss and a net loss of 418.8 billion won (approximately $284.5 million) due to approximately 240 billion won (approximately $163.0 million) in one-time costs related to a large-scale voluntary retirement program. Excluding these one-time items, the company achieved a first-half operating profit for the first time in five years since 2021. OLED’s revenue share rose slightly year-over-year to 57%, indicating the business expansion is progressing smoothly.

LG Display has officially entered the office monitor market with its first OLED product designed for professional use,…

[25
50026,50027,22856,4298,48994,315,2482,314,24867,49580,22168,2485
post-96124","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-lg","tag-27-inch-5k-oled-panel","tag-51-5-inch-lcd-monitor","tag-gaming-oled","tag-humanoid","tag-k-display-2026","tag-lg","tag-lg-display","tag-lg-group","tag-omdia","tag-p-oled","tag-rgb-stripe","tag-tandem-oled
["GET
