Extreme heat is set to continue on Monday, the 27th, centered on the Gyeongsang region including Daegu.<\/p>\n

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), morning lows across the country are expected to range from 22 to 26 degrees, with daytime highs of 28 to 37 degrees.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will not drop sufficiently at night, keeping lows at or above 25 degrees, and tropical nights are expected in many areas.<\/p>\n

In particular, the perceived temperature in the Gyeongsang region is forecast to rise above 38 degrees. The perceived temperature is a figure that quantitatively represents the heat a person feels, combining air temperature with the effect of humidity.<\/p>\n

According to the KMA, the maximum perceived temperature is forecast to rise above 38 degrees in the following areas: in North Gyeongsang, Daegu, Gyeongsan, Cheongdo, Goryeong, Pohang, and the central-northern and southern parts of Gyeongju; in South Gyeongsang, Yangsan, Gimhae, Miryang, Uiryeong, Haman, Changnyeong, and the central part of Hapcheon; and Gwangyang.<\/p>\n

For the time being, the maximum perceived temperature will stand at 33 degrees or higher. In southern regions, it will reach 35 degrees or higher.<\/p>\n

As life-threatening extreme heat continues, the KMA has issued a serious heatwave warning for these areas.<\/p>\n

Skies will be mostly cloudy in central regions, while southern regions and Jeju Island will be generally clear.<\/p>\n

Some areas may see showers from late in the early morning through the evening. In regions where showers fall, gusts of wind along with thunder and lightning may occur in places.<\/p>\n

Expected rainfall is 10 to 50 mm in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi; 5 to 20 mm on the East Coast of northern Gangwon, in northern Chungbuk, and on the five West Sea islands; and 10 to 60 mm in the inland mountainous areas of Gangwon.<\/p>\n
