HawkEye 360, a fast-growing Herndon-based geospatial analytics company, on Tuesday announced the establishment of its first European subsidiary in Luxembourg.
Founded in 2015, HawkEye 360 collects radio frequency data from satellite constellations to identify and track activity for military, maritime and intelligence customers. The company has expanded its capabilities and operations in recent years through acquisitions and new funding.
The company called the move to establish subsidiary HawkEye 360 Luxembourg S.à r.l. an important step in expanding its overseas operations and strengthening its ties with European customers, allies and industry partners. The announcement coincided with a meeting between HawkEye 360 CEO John Serafini and Stacey Feinberg, the U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg, during World Space Business Week in Paris.
Details about the subsidiary’s footprint, employee count, timeline, impact on Virginia operations and revenue projections were not provided, and the company did not immediately return requests for comment.
“Europe, its allies and our partners across the region are central to HawkEye 360’s long-term strategy,” Serafini said in a statement. “The security environment is changing rapidly, and European nations need proven capabilities that can contribute to missions today.”
The company said an EU-based entity will also allow it to participate more directly in Europe’s defense and space industry and develop solutions for European defense and security needs.
“Luxembourg has built a strong and forward-looking space and defense ecosystem, making it an excellent partner for U.S. companies committed to supporting Europe’s security, resilience and technological leadership,” Feinberg said in a statement. “HawkEye 360’s decision to establish its European hub here reflects the strength of Luxembourg’s growing space sector and creates new opportunities for collaboration.”
HawkEye 360 has about 400 employees. It raised $416 million in an initial public offering in May and was valued at about $3.15 billion when its shares began trading on the New York Stock Exchange. The company has secured more than $100 million in international contract awards and options this year. Through the first six months of 2026, HawkEye 360 reported $99.6 million in revenue, more than double the $49.6 million it reported during the same period in 2025.
