Schroders Appoints Former Credit Suisse Luxembourg CEO

Asset manager Schroders has appointed Patrick Schwyzer as Head of Client Group Europe. He will assume his new role in Zurich on April 7, reporting to Matt Oomen, Global Head of Client Group, the firm said in a statement on Monday.

Schwyzer will be responsible for the company’s pan-European client group strategy and will oversee activities across wealth management, wholesale, and institutional clients. The aim is to further tailor the firm’s offering to the diverse needs of European markets.

Extensive Leadership Experience and Network

Schwyzer brings more than two decades of leadership experience in private banking and asset management. He joins Schroders from UBS, where he most recently served as CEO of Credit Suisse (Luxembourg). In that role, he led more than 350 employees across multiple European jurisdictions and was responsible for developing the regional platform.

«His extensive network and deep understanding of the European investor landscape will be key to further strengthening our position in the region», said Oomen.

Switzerland as a Regional Hub

The appointment further strengthens Schroders’ European leadership team and underscores its strategic focus on expanding its European business and enhancing connectivity between regional markets and the global organisation.

By basing the role in Zurich, Schroders also reaffirms Switzerland’s importance as a regional hub. From there, the team manages key client relationships and coordinates strategic initiatives across the European market.
